The 26× 4.0-inch wide tire of beach cruiser (with adjustable tire pressure range of 10-30 PSI) has a ground contact pressure of only 0.08MPa on the boardwalk (0.25MPa for ordinary urban bicycle tires), as shown by tests conducted by the Miami Beach Authority in 2024. The vibration amplitude when it passes through the wooden joints is reduced by 67% (the peak value recorded by the acceleration sensor is 0.3G vs. 0.9G of the competing product). The performance of the paved road surface is also excellent: when the tire pressure rises to 25 PSI, the rolling resistance coefficient drops to 0.008 (close to the level of road bikes), combined with a 500W rear-wheel drive hub motor (torque 65Nm), the power consumption for a constant speed ride at 25km/h during the Los Angeles commuting test is only 7.2Wh/km (load 100kg).
Adaptive design is verified through dual scenarios. The frame is made of 6061-T6 aluminum alloy (with a forward tilt Angle of 68°), which enhances the steering stability (the probability of sway is less than 0.1% at a high speed of 40km/h), and the extended wheelbase (1180mm) increases the anti-rollovers ability by 42% on sandy soft base roads. In 2023, the California Coast Guard used this vehicle. The cruising speed on wooden boardwalks reached 22km/h (the speed limit for ordinary bicycles was 15km/h), and the top speed on asphalt roads was 32km/h (in compliance with EN 15194 regulations). The sealed central shaft (IP54 grade) reduces the invasion of sand particles to less than 0.01g/100km (disassembly data shows that the wear is 0.02mm after 5,000km of operation).
Intelligent switching mode of the power system. The ECO mode (power limit 250W) is specially designed for boardwalks (noise < 55dB), and the BOOST mode (instantaneous power 800W) is suitable for roads with a 6% slope. GPS data statistics show that on average, 87% of the trips of Santa Monica users use dual-mode automatic switching (sensor detection road surface hardness error ±5%). The battery pack adopts a waterproof packaging (IP67). After 500 hours of salt spray testing at the seaside, the interface corrosion rate is only 0.3% (the industry average is 3.5%).
The safety configuration meets the requirements of mixed road conditions. Hydraulic disc brakes (brake distance 2.8m@25km/h) perform well on wet boardways (coefficient of friction 0.45 vs. normal V-brakes 0.28), certified by TUV Rheinland for wet brake decay < 8%. The integrated LED lighting system (with a headlight lumen value of 300 and a taillight visible distance of 150 meters) reduces the night accident rate by 53% (Florida Department of Transportation 2024 report). The handlebars are equipped with a dual bell system (high-frequency 105dB to warn pedestrians and low-frequency 85dB to alert vehicles).
The economic benefits have been verified through commercial operation. The Hawaiian rental company purchased 150 beach Cruisers. The passability of the wooden boardwalk increased the customer renewal rate to 78% (while traditional bikes were only 45%), and the average daily revenue per unit was 42 (cost recovery period < 60 days). Compared with commuting by car, Miami residents save 1,200 on fuel costs per year by using this car (with an average daily commute of 15 kilometers). The new EU regulation requires coastal vehicles to withstand salt spray corrosion for more than 300 hours. 95% of the models on the market have met the standard, and the global market size is expected to grow to $3.7 billion by 2025.
